The HBC Brigades

nancymargueriteanderson.com -- The HBC Brigades book cover by Nancy Marguerite Anderson

The book cover for my book, The HBC Brigades, which will be published by Ronsdale Press in June, 2024

Good morning, everyone: I just want to let everyone know I am okay, and to give you a little interesting information. Canadian residents can now order The HBC Brigades: Culture, Conflict, and Perilous Journeys of the Fur Trade, at your local independent bookstore, or through Amazon.ca. The link on my blog leads you to Amazon.com, so don’t use that at the moment.

There will be no easy link to Ronsdale Press for pre-ordering, as there was in The York Factory Express! Ronsdale Press has a new owner and publisher, and it is likely that keeping someone on staff to deal with individual orders is an expense they cannot yet afford. That puts the Americans at a disadvantage for a little while, but as soon as I have ordering information for my American followers, I will let you know. (You might be able to order the book through Amazon.ca — but I don’t know if it will work: you will have to try it for yourself!) You can order the book directly through me, and get a signed copy too, if that interests you. (Anyone can do that, actually.) Just use the Contact Sheet, or email me if you have my email address.

I have not done a blogpost this week, except for this short one, as I am placing the images in the book and writing the captions — and that takes time. It has also struck me that I have to do my taxes, and because of last year’s various crises [how interesting, the plural of the word, “crisis,” is “crises”], my records are in some disarray! And I am also organizing the advertising and marketing for The HBC Brigades. I have a lot on my plate right now!

So, I will get to work!

    Hello,

I can confirm that the book is also available for pre-order on Amazon.co.uk. If there are any other U.K.-based subscribers interested. Delivery takes about three weeks, so presumably, it is being shipped from Canada.
